Ford Introduces New Key to Control Teen Driving

The Ford Motor Co. is introducing a new key, called MyKey, to give parents more control over their teen's driving habits. It uses a computer chip to control the vehicle's speed and the volume of its audio system, among other things. (April 15)

how the fuck is this going to stop a kid going 50 in a 35? if a kid is going to speed, the kid will speed. and that kid will travel at the highest allowed setting. and the highest allowed setting, 80 mph, is still pretty fast.

i've bought ford cars before and they break down easily the focus for example broke down in less than a year. Thus the reason why i dislike ford. my moms car which isn't a ford hasn't broken down and she's had it for over ten years. the only decent cars ford makes are trucks but even then i still wouldn't put my life in their hands again.

oh so you know better then Motor Trend, Top Gear and Consumers Report, which have all put fords in there best list. Consumers Report found that 93% of models sold by Ford Motor scored average or better reliability. I will say that Ford did suck in the 70s and 80s, and I understand where you are coming from, you want to be a automotive enthusiast, but your to lazy to do the research.

i agree with pcosmar someone will deffinately figure it out. now the question is who'd buy a ford in the first place? its the worst type of car to buy. you can easily get that stuff added to your car for a smaller fee or for free if you play your cards right.

Sadly natural selection will take care of them, the children with naturally bad parents will die in the pyroclastic flow due to their bad parenting genes while those children with inherently good parents will outrun their peers and survive to breed more smarterer parents, leaving the others to be eaten by the volcano. The volcano will then poop them out and they'll become food for future generations ... it's the circle of life, and it moves us all!
