I love the skybridge, the St Louis Arch, the Washington monument, they all are wastes of money if they are judged by their usefulness. The skybridge and the Figge are very interesting buildings. When the Eiffel Tower was built most people hated it, now its a landmark.

Im not disagreeing with you, its just that most people think the city paid for it. And yes i agree, Davenport isnt exactly a rich city and even 7 million for tourism could go to something more useful

Yeah, this thing is a huge waste of money. $7 Million dollars... so many other things that money could went to.  Even if it wasn't paid for by local Davenport taxes, my state taxes still paid for it. Our elected officials are a complete joke here.

Just so you know, a very small percentage of the skybridge was paid for by the city of davenport. It was mostly paid for by state tourism grant money.

I've voted for the Skybridge as the "Biggest Waste of Taxpayer Money" in the River Cities Reader's "Reader's Choice" awards. It's not nearly as bad at night. The LED lights help a lot. It's still ugly as sin during the day - the bridge to nowhere.
