The only one you really need to subscribe to anyway, is God. If you want peace in your heart and in your life, dude, just ask him. ask him to make his presence felt in your life. what do you have to lose? i think you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised.

when a christian says they're gonna get a new body when they go to heaven, it basically means a new immortal form that they will exist as, not necessarily a physical body.
