Legendary Star Miss Mitzi Gaynor brought the house down in this once-in-a-lifetime event as Marc Huestis presents A SALUTE TO MISS MITZI GAYNOR Live In-Person-Hosted by Bruce Vilanch, July 25 at San Francisco's majestic Castro Theatre. Mitzi - wearing an original Bob Mackie made just for this event -dishes Marilyn, Ethel, Yul & Noel as the audience ate it up. . Over 900 people attended. No, that's not what happened with Monroe. Mitzi was being a smartass and bad mouthing Marilyn to the crew during filming. What Mitzi didn't know was that Marilyn always befriended the crew. One of the crew told her, and Marilyn carried a deep grudge since then. This came out during the filming of The Misfits. Marilyn found a ratty wig Estelle Winwood was wearing for her role. Marilyn put the wig on and did a crazy mock tap dance while declaring "I'm Mitzi Gaynor!" to the amusement of the crew.
