  • If you see an AC 130 circling around you in a clockwise direction, you're fine. If you see it circling around you in a counter clockwise direction, you're fucked.

  • 40 year old technology, still pretty awsome to watch. Spector was stationed at UBON RTAFB in 1973, Motto was you can run but you will just die tired. JC sgt USAF.

  • Chuck Norris's paper airplane

  • @berner yeah those hit you from 3kms and sound cames later, scary.

  • Damn these guys probably got a nuke lol. It's a shame that most people probably never heard of these things until mw2 though

  • Thats one hell big ass plane!

  • @berner Ah, i see! Cool cool! thx for the explanation

  • @outspwq28 Says... THIS guy! :D Nah mate it's just 'cause the armaments are on the pilot's side, so if you're on the co pilot's side, you're okay. But of course the crew will probably know you're there anyways.

Most likely if you're the bad guy, it'll be an attack helicopter that gets you, 'cause attack helicopters are pretty much made for taking out ground troops, not to mention there are more Apaches produced than AC-130's

  • @berner

    Says who?!

  • @berner interessting note

  • The original platform for this method of firing at a fixed point on the ground was two C-47 Dakotas, (nicknamed "Puff The Magic Dragon") fitted with three 7.62mm miniguns, (the small-arms version of the Vulcan cannon) Operated from December 1964, these aircraft were vulnerable to AA fire due to having to work so close to the ground. Later conversions of C-119's with 7.62 and 20mm Gatlings, replaced the C-47, supplementing the AC-130.
