I am a recovering alcoholic/addict that thanks my "Higher Power" everyday for AA. I don't agree with RecoveryTruth1's statements because they are inaccurate and irrational. AA is not a Cult.It is a group of people who "choose" to join a fellowship that provides for many a way to control their disease of alcoholism, maintain sobriety and have a chance at a reasonably healthy and happy life. The program is spiritual in nature but Not a Cult.It is voluntary too!

this is the definition of absurdity.

AA is for real alcoholics or Alcohol Dependents.

Pop another one guy, you might have had a bad AA experience but you are DRUNK making this video. People who drink normally very, very rarely get drunk. You have a drinking problem, and while AA does not have a monopoly on recovery I hope you find it.

you're clearly inebriated right now. if you'd just gone to a different group or tried to get a new sponsor, maybe things would have turned out differently for you... don't hate something that tries to help people change their behaviors and life. AA is not a cure for alcoholism. you have to take an active role in your recovery. I hope you can help yourself get clean because you deserve to be happy and in love and to have a good life without the chains of alcohol addiction holding you back.
Many 12 steppers are the epitome of hypocrisy, narcissism, and delusional thinking. They are mostly self-absorbed, presumptuous, sanctimonious, pompous, and close-minded. Yet they proclaim that they are open-minded and not religious. What a bald-faced lie!!! 12-step programs are religious cults. Most state legislatures now acknowledge this fact. Also, read Charles Bufe's book Alcoholics Anonymous: Cult or Cure. This book answers many questions about the fraud of AA "success rates."
