Sometimes, its better when these things happen overnight. Bracing yourself can cause further injury and laying in bed keeps you stationary. What a disaster! Im moving my bed away from the window and taking shelves off my wall.
Its not funny but I had to smile a bit when they mentioned the blast hitting the home for the deaf. Get it... sound... deaf people.... too soon??? (Im not a hater!!! 2 of my close family members are deaf and im familiar with sign language....) However, so ironic!
That explosion blew me out of my bed and left my insides shaking for hours. It also shook the foundation of my home and I live on Centre street. Thankfully this happened at night; can't even imagine how many lives would have been otherwise.
This woke me up out of bed, I lived next to the library up the street from the mall and police station, thought it was an earthquake at first, went outside and saw a mushroom cloud. That was a crazy night, glad no one got hurt
We owned 26 Riverside Street (the Scorzoni's), but my grandmother Ruth Lynch lived there, my aunt Barbara Lynch, my uncle John Lynch, The O'Neil's on Bates Street, and most of the people I went to school with.
Great video of this disaster! Sad for the victims.

@scorzi My family was on Bates st too. The house is rebuilt now, but it was a disaster. My brother, 7yo at the time, still has PTSD from that.
