What this means is not only would the U.S. economy tank (its current growth rate of 2.5% over the past 8 years compares to 12% in China and 7% in Russia), but the Pentagon wouldn't be able to finance any of its new toys. Watch what happens to America's military might when the defense budget falls from $600 billion to $300 billion. More to the point, the America cannot possible finance its $53 trillion in future obligations for medicare/social security etc.
