Actually, the Zombi of Voodoo are people who are ambushed by someone who carries a poisonous powder. This poison is inhaled and the victim goes into a very deep trance-state. Their heartbeat comes to almost a complete stop and they cease breathing, thus appearing dead. They are then buried by their loved ones, who believe him/her deceased, and later dug up by the ambusher. The ambusher revives the Zombi, and then makes the victim his/her slave. Nasty business.

@grindcore777 It's also worth pointing out that there's a social element to this process -- after the drugs wear off, slavery continues because it's part of social expectation -- kind of like a person 'loving' a violently abusive spouse (though in an even more extreme way) all the way up to the moment where the violent spouse kills the partner. Similarly here, once the process has been done to someone, many victims simply accept their new role instead of trying to escape.

@jafisherUTube I am an ex-catholic, so I know quite a bit about christianity already. You do realise the roman empire never fell, it just became the catholic church. The spanish inquisition was controlled by the church, they were told to force people to convert to christianity and then if they didn't they were shunned from the community. Think of all the people that have died as a result of christianity, then ask yourself if God is really good?
