Big East Basketball was the best in the 80's with great teams and rivalry's similar to the NFC East.

What memories.... Earl Kelley "The Earl of Storrs", Mullin, Berry, Pearl Washington, Ewing, Reggie Williams...and the list goes on. What a conference.
-
This is back when the Big East dominated & was like the NFC East of College Basketball with great teams that hated each other like Georgetown, St. Johns, Syracuse & Vilanova.

Iremember as a kid following Georgetown. they were my favorite. Those rivalries with the Redman were great. Chris Mullin, Patrick Ewing, Walter Berry, David Wingate, Mike Jackson(yes there was a player named Michael Jackson), Reggie Williams, Ed Pickney

Man! I was the Biggest Hoyas fan EVER! They look like me played like people I knew and didn't take no shit! They love to accomadate a brawl! The Big East in the 80's were the Best brand of BBall in the nation! Look at the final four and B.C was cheated that would have that year. That would have made four Big East School in the Final Four that year!

Even the Big East girls looked cute then.
Wasn't capitalism the reason for the creation of the original Big East?
