trburkholder...the stand alone budget total isn't the core issue, it is that taxes are being raised without a substantial decrease in spending. Businesses and taxpayers move out, you have less money than you had before. Read up on the Rust Belt.

Mr. Welch, you expect us to react to the $19.7 billion budget as if it were an aberration and an abomination. Governor Rell proposed an $18.8 billion budget for FY 2010 and a $19.5 billion for FY 2011 so $19.7 billion seems to be a reasonable balance of significant cuts in growth of the budget and increases in revenue.
