Election Environment Forum: Marine Parks and Sanctuaries

Question: Will you expand marine sanctuary zones, and keep our marine parks under the joint management of the Departments of Environment and Fisheries?

Preamble: Our unique marine environment is under threat from overfishing, pollution and climate change. There is overwhelming scientific and public support for marine parks -- polling shows 85% of people in NSW support marine parks -- yet only 7% of NSW marine waters are completely protected in sanctuary zones.
