This is a short highlight video featuring the 1980 and 2008 Philadelphia Phillies World Series Parades. The 1980 parade was shot by my Mom on 8mm film, the 2008 parade by me on mini-dv. Enjoy!

  • This video is the best! The scene where the Phillies cap is placed on the baby's head touched my heart! I no longer live in Philadelphia but I am so proud to be able to say that this is my hometown. Way to go Phillies!!!

  • Thanks!

  • This was what I wanted to see in person in 2011 for the Phillies. Now, I hope that I see this in person in 2012 for the Flyers and for the Phillies. I hope to see either one in person.

  • @PhillyFanatic87 David Robidoux, "Dream of a Lifetime."

  • Need the song used. Anyone know it?

  • @SNIyer1 I was devastated by the Flyers loss in the second round. I hope to see the Phillies win the World Series in 2011. I had plans to drive down to Philadelphia and see the parade down Broad Street if the Flyers won the Stanley Cup. Now, I hope to do this if the Phillies win the World Series.

  • Lets go Flyers! Lets go Flyers! The Phillies 2008 championship is the only Philadelphia championship I can remember, as I don't know anything about 1980 Phillies and 1983 76ers. If they don't face the Vancouver Canucks in the Finals, I hope to see another parade like this down Broad Street and a flag with the logo, "Philadelphia Flyers 2011 Stanley Cup Champions."

  • I'm too young to recall 1980. I was devastated by 1993. However, I'm happy for the Phillies in 2008. I remember rooting for the Phillies in the 1993 World Series, but I was devastated by the home run by Joe Carter, as the Phillies were close to forcing Game 7. I wish they had won it in 1993 and in 2009.

  • @juliaz12345 I strongly agree, I felt the Phillies, not the Blue Jays, should have won in 1993. I was devastated by that loss, because I rooted for them in the World Series. The Braves were in the LCS for the third year in a row, but I wanted Philadelphia to win then. Adding to the devastation then, Philadelphia television stations had planned coverage of a parade down Broad Street, even before announcing that the Phillies lost. However, I was happy for 2008 parade.

  • I have the 1980 parade taped plus all three clubhouse celebrations that year.

  • Absolutely Positively Phantastic!!! The music hits you and I can still hear the voice of the late great Harry Kalas.

  • It was a clear, chilly October night, and we were in the parlor watching the last pitch! Tug then pitched the famed out! It was over! I then ran outside to the front of the house, for a few seconds the dead silence was broken, car horns and air horns were then heard faintly in the distance over the blocks of South Philly. People then filed in to the streets and everyone made a b line for Broad and Snyder, it was incredible! Some of my neighbors made for the Subway and Center city
