Yes UncleG, also the value of diodiversity in crop species has been recognized for a long time. In the Soviet Union befor WWII they had a large ware house in Leningrad full of all the seeds of all the crops. When the nazis laid siege to the city in'42 '43, the scientists who worked there gave up their lives to save the seeds. Some of them literally starved rather than eat the seeds.
Biodiversity is a thing of hugh value that not everyone understands.

Every known seed to man is being collected and stored deep within a deep cave system in Norway, this has been going on for at least 18 months, also these seeds have not been genetically modified. so either, those in charge of this operation are doing this as a safeguard or they are doing this to make sure that they and they alone have access to unhampered seed stocks after we have all been killed off, and maybe after the next world war they think that they will be able to use them.
