Hi Jen. Congrats on your loss - you're doing really well - try not to beat yourself up about the numbers - you're going in the right direction! Are you measuring yourself as well?
As far as I know some people cannot have salad - I've picked some lettuce from my boyfriends meal about 4 weeks post op and I didn't have any problems - but that's just me.

hey jersey~ when you are allowed, there are some great protein chips out there! kays naturals 1.5 oz has 15 grams of protein and rival soy chips 1 oz 7 grams of protein...approved for bariatrics. my program allows raw veggies at 3 mos, but only AFTER protein, so i dip about 3 pieces of lettuce and 1 cucumber slice into my dressing...yum, yum, yum!!!
yes, chewing forever... have you tried soup with melted cheese, i LOVE it and it feels me up, only 1 cup!!! GL ya look great!

Forgot - some people can NEVER eat raw veggies (like salad) again. It varies from person to person. The usual recommendation is to wait AT LEAST six months before trying cuz it's tough on your tummy. The longer you let your pouch heal, the better chance you have of tolerating it. Eating it too soon can make you barf. i craved it when I got home, too.
I'm not being mean here or anything.. but your way to young for that.. could have done it with regular exercise and eating habits..doesn't this surgery limit the food/food types you can eat?

@alextehwiz ure absoultly right but i knew in my head that id never be able to lose 200+ pounds without help, and my health was more important to me than weather or not i was to young or any other reason...and there were alot of reasons ...that people threw at me. Everyone has their own reasoning as to why they do it, some for the wrong but most for the right, but im happy with my decision and in the end thats really all that counts.

You look great! Congrats on the 30+ pounds gone. Our starting weight is very close...within 5 pounds. How tall are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm 5'8 and when I was watching your 'before pics' video I thought we looked similar in build - and then I found out your starting weight and I was right. :) LOL I'm for sure going to follow your journey because you're only about 6 weeks ahead of me.
Can't wait to see more!
Hugs,
Therese
