There was actually a photo of his death. He always wanted for Americans to see the horrors of war, and his own death was what showed them. Shortly after the machine gun bullet hit him in the head and killed him instantly, an army photographer snapped a photo of his body lying in the dirt, with a trickle of blood coming out of his mouth.
Good job. Ernie was a great man. His observations and his insights still ring true today.
