I caught a version of the JourneyWest story while I was in Beijing. A complete waste of my time and money, it was aweful.

I saw a few operatics while in China and the ones I watched in Beijing were by far the worst.

Perhaps they should speak to Damon and Jamie to get some tips. ;p

lol, i don't get it. are you saying the music's crap or that the opera is actually crap? It sounds like the latter. In any case, i would've thought the opera is good, though i haven't been to any so I don't know what i'm talking about. XD

aha, the Damon Alburn music is gooood.

The opera I saw in Beijing was terrible. There was very little singing, mainly clashing of pots and pans and some guys doing poor acrobatics. The clips I've seen of the Alburn/Hewlett opera looks much much more fun!

u heard of the gorillaz. the creators of the gorillaz made this album- Monkey: journey to the west and abit of themusic was used for the chinese olympics- or atleast for the advertisements of it.

Anyway, there's also the chinese opera - monkey: journey to the west, which uses all the music i think. It's probably why the whole album is in chinese. Anyway to sum it up the creator of the gorillaz made an album which is all in chinese. It's a great album. and if you haven't heard of gorrilaz, do!
