This was one of my projects from Digital Visual Composition. Animate the text to a song of your choice, but instead of doing it the easy way by using Adobe After Effects, we had to use LiveType.
I've received a lot of questions about how I got audio into Livetype. There's no short/easy way to do it. I made layouts in Illustrator and saved them as JPEGs. Then, I took the mp3 and layouts into Final Cut Pro, placed markers where the words needed to appear. Then, I exported that video with markers and took it into Livetype. Once the animations in Livetype were done, I exported THAT video, took it back into Final Cut Pro and put the audio MP3 in the audio timeline.
A long and annoying process, but it can be done. Doing your layouts for animations ahead of time is the key.
This song is "The Metal" by Tenacious D. As you may have guessed, I do not own the rights to Tenacious D's music.
How did you put music into LiveType to sync the words with the song?
