Here I am sitting on my bed a week later and still thinking about him. The last week has been a blur. Life without Nick, even only life for a week, has me feeling so...different, and not in a good way. I throw all of my attention into art class and deciding what school I should go to in the fall, just trying to keep my mind off him. Of course it doesn't help when Julia and Liz see Joe and Kevin every day. And it really doesn't help when they come home saying "Nick really misses you".
Yeah well if he really missed me then why doesn't he come tell me himself? Well I guess I was pretty harsh last time we talked, wasn't I? But he deserved it right? I mean he was the one making out with my enemy...the DAY after we broke up! Yep, he definitely deserved it. Then why do I miss him so much? Suddenly, I hear something hit my window. It sounds like a rock. I walk over to my window, open it, and look down. Oh no!
"Nick what are you doing here?" I yell/whisper at him.
"I need to see you...need to talk to you." He says, not trying to be quiet and slurring his words. Oh boy! He's drunk! He continues, "Please Skye. It wasn't my fault. It was her that kissed me. Not the other way around. Please...I love you!"
Wow like I haven't heard that one before! I roll my eyes. "Save it, Romeo!" I say and start to shut the window. But before I can, my light turns on. Liz walks in, crabby and sleepy-eyed.
"What the hell is going on in here?" she asks. I don't respond but point to the window. She looks down and sees Nick struggling to stand. "Oh man." She says.
"I know! What am I supposed to do Liz?"
Liz shrugs. "Well you can't send him back to Joe and Kevin...he would be in so much trouble. Just let him stay here tonight and then send him back in the morning."
"Fine." I say with a groan and a frown. Liz goes back to bed and I go downstairs and outside to get Nick. I put his arm around my shoulder and help him walk in the house and upstairs. Once we are there, I lay him down on my bed. But as I turn around to walk away, he grabs my hand.
"Skye, don't leave. I didn't do it, I promise. I love you." He says.
"Nick, you are drunk and you don't know what you are saying. Go to sleep." I say, annoyed.
"No please wait. Just sleep next to me. It will help me sleep better."
I shake my head. "Seeing how drunk you are, I have no doubts in my mind that you will sleep fine. Trust me, you will be out in a few seconds."
"Please. Just lay next to me. Please..." he begs.
His pleading eyes melt my heart. And although he is drunk, he's still just so cute. My head is telling me not to give in but my heart just can't resist. So I crawl in next to him and fall asleep in his arms.

The next morning, I wake to find myself still wrapped in Nick's arms. I quickly roll away and get out of bed, trying not to wake him. I go downstairs to get Nick some water and Advil, knowing that he will need it. When I get back upstairs, Nick is awake and sitting up in bed.
"Morning sunshine!" I say brightly and smile sweetly.
He frowns at me. Obviously he isn't in the mood for my cheeriness this morning. But it's understandable.
"How's the hangover?" I ask.
He runs his hand through his hair and says, "Not too good."
I smile. "I figured. Here I brought you some Advil and water to help."
Gratitude washes over his face. "Thanks." As he drinks, it is awkwardly silent. We sit in silence for a while but finally he says softly, "Skye, I meant what I said last night. It really wasn't my fault. I would never do that to you. And I really do still love-"
I interrupt him because I don't know if I believe him and I don't want to hear him finish that sentence. "Look Nick, its fine. I just don't want to talk about it. Let's just forgot about it ok? Friends?" I ask.
He sighs. "Yeah, friends. I guess that's better than not having you in my life at all."
That last comment has us in awkward silence again so I say, "You should go. Kevin and Joe will be worried about you."
"Yeah, you are right. Thank you Skye...for everything." he says sadly. He walks away, leaving me sitting on my bed wondering if I did the right thing.
