  • if I'm not mistaken the right hand should be on top and fingers straight for a better sound.

    no the left hand should be on the top, for an alto saxophone

  • Hello jazzgent,

    First of all, the right hand plays the bottom keys on saxophone (as pictured clearly above) with the fingers always relaxed and naturally curved. Secondly, finger movement or placement will not affect your sound in the least. That's left to your embouchure, reeds and choice of mouthpiece for the most part.

    By the way, we are the same guys who tell you how to buckle your seat belt. I hope you listened a little more carefully to those instructions! ;)
