Voice of America (Special English)

Recorded at 0130 UTC or 8:30 pm Central Time. The VOA is the propaganda machine of the U.S. government and has been in the international broadcast scene since the end of World War II. It broadcasts in many languages including English and "Special" English. This recording is in Special English, which is spoken with shorter sentences and slower pace. Nonetheless, the VOA does have some comprehensive programs to promote the United States for overseas listeners. As with many American SW broadcasters, this one comes in with good reception inside the country, even though they technically are not allow to target an American audience.
