ARW543 -- The logical reason is the greedy California government's property taxes. Race tracks only generate revenue on weekends mostly. Taxes are every day as land values go up. I could see it coming. I ran a car there for years.

@cbkspa i would think there would be terrible wind noise if he was in an open cockpit cobra.
-
@LPcustom76 Or, was it in their FIA Comp. Cobra ?
-
Somebody give me a logical reason they dont race here

@UFedward haha i hope that you remake this racetrack, but money is everthing now nobody loves tradition, rir have decades of races and some idiot decide to destroyed this to shopinng mall , why nobody sign pettition beacuse of that that in usa? 1989 i think .
-
yeah you are wright i agree with you that s problem money and power , where is spirit of usa and tradition like this track. i hope that someone in usa help and build this track like been before somewhere in around riverside or la i hope, beacuse this is one of the fast and best tracks in history, inclued f1 too 1 race 1960 too bad for that, some milioner want destroyed tradition to bulit some restaurant and houses and rir is dead under that city

@master82565 Just a note, Riverside is not desert, more specifically Moreno Valley.
And FYI Moreno Valley is a ghetto shithole that disgraces this racetrack and NASCAR. If I won the lottery I would remake this racetrack. It pisses me off that I was born in a generation that values wealth and power, not old traditions.
-
Folks, the Moreno Valley Mall only occupies some of the space. The southern part of the track is replaced by houses. I can't seem to locate the outline of the old track on Google maps though.

@blaumausfrau is there any chance to build new riverside somwhere in calif. desert?
-
skip scott? essex wire? a gt-40 perhaps?
This was a great track. Torn out to make a shitty shopping mall that has been a failure since the day it was built.

I wish the track was still around. I could walk to it if I wanted to and see some racing. Now it's just a shitty mall that hangs around with nothing but closed down stores. Great planning ya assholes!
