@thumbsaloft Here in youtube or googlin' round ... don't look for great funk bands... nowadays... only garage bands I think. Remember James Brown on some middle 8... Oh Maceo!
AWB for ever Funk!

I was there, and met Alan Gorrie outside pre-gig think just after there sound check, got his autograph on my AWB White Album, good night & gig, was quite warm that night, but it wasn't 31st of July it was 31st of May, I know I'm picky on details lol, but classic funk band.

Now I ask you, who with a pulse could actually sit still while listening to this? It's better than a can of Red Bull to make your heart start pumping!!!!

Funk the way Funk should be done...reminds me of the 70`s (my heyday) when I used to see the likes of James Brown, Ohio Players, Kool & The Gang, Funkadelic etc. AWB are certainly the best Funk band in the UK. Great stuff!

"Oh Maceo" is a throwback AWB jam! It's great! You definitely feel the Maceo Parker influence in this song. Freddie V's signature jam!

Now this is what I'm talking about! Funk the way the old school does it!
What has happened to the funk, where's it at these days?
