Corporations are making record profits, but don't show much interest in hiring and small businesses don't have enough consumers to buy their products, so they're not hiring either. CBS News business and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis goes in search of ideas that could turn around the jobs market.

Have we forgotten about 'FREE TRADE' and the GATT agreements?

Our politicians sold our jobs over seas people! When are we going

to wake up to reality. Big Corporations had huge interests in those agreements.

Cheaper wages and tax brackets makes for bigger profits.

Meanwhile, the media propaganda whores fill our brains full of disinfo and distraction to

make us point the finger in the wrong direction..

I'm sorry but... that non-profit isnt that non-profit. Job training programs, community colleges, this has been a boom for them in terms of profits and filling seats. Financial Aid is like a goldmine for them.

As for the students, its 2011, don't take notes on paper. DO the tasks, thats how you learn, drives me crazy... learn that OS like a master - then you'll grow from there by doing, not note taking.

UAW has driven companies out of profit and thats why their power demands fail. Look at S.C airplane lawsuit and you get the idea. Unions are 7% of workers and yet demand rules that force Us to join them so the get more dues and more power. My Dad was union all his working life and died after 15 years of unemployment from stikes of due to company closures forced by union demands. Take unions out and jobs will grow and Replace Obama and jobs will explode in this country. Perry 2012

ECONOMY 101

The economy is like a garden -- not a sprawling agribusiness, with endless rows of one crop, but an organic garden, diversified, harmonious, and lush with new growth. Tend the economy garden this way:

1. Support small businesses.

2. Curb large corporations that bully them out of business.

3. Supply more college funding for students.

4. Facilitate more business loans to entrepreneurs.

5. Buy American; keep American businesses in America.
