The reason why Trent has only played this song a few times live is because when this song was composed he was contemplating suicide in this ocean-front house he rented. This is the only song to come out of there. It's about Trent wanting to commit suicide to end his pain. That's why "Adrift and at Peace" is called the conclusion to "La Mer." Food for thought.
