1)Its size is very small in the world and equal or better maneuverable compared with its category incl.Gripen

2)Its engine GE F 404 not 80KN its 85KN made for indian purpose only 40pieces afterthat GE F414 95-100KN

3)Already its Thurst/Weight ratio is 1.07

4)Speed upto mach 2.0

5)Deltawing airframe,fly by,software,cockpit atleast 4++th generation

6)Powerful Radar

7)Finally its india's indigenous so growth of this project continued.

Few very bitter facts about LCA.

1.LCA cant even pull more than 17 degrees AOA meaning it has a limited angle of attack

2. LCA isn't even for all weathers recently in an airshow in India in 2009 LCA wasn't able to take off in rain.

3. Its too costly meaning its no longer a replacement for IAF’s flying coffins.

4. Its engine has problems it can only give 80 KN but the requirement of IAF is 95-100 KN

5. Its 1.5 tones more heavily than planned.

6. It can’t even carry full load of weapons.

@sparkitem tejas is better than jf 17 thunder,its a fact.Dont forget jf 17 thunder was built by china as a cheap 4.5 gen fighter which dosent have modern technology.Not to mention Teas has delta wing form which is best for manouvers!

its not even nearer to SU-30 & F-16s two greats. so no need for non capable plane rather we should go for latest light weight fighters from NATO, Russia & US.

india have a huge diverse customers across the world, so why should we go for new verions of f-16s, Rafal, JAS 39 Gripen.

we should compete with JF-17 which is far better than LCA & can counter f-16s, MIG 29, even su-30s. JF-17 poses threats to us. so leave this silly LCA & Get other options.

The crash rate is high because in 90s we couldn't replace the 1970s jets with new ones since USSR collapsed. There was shortage of spare parts and hence it was risky bargain when CIS parts were ordered that were not reliable.

@abh3092 Israel didn't black it out for us; it was US pressure so that we would be forced to buy their version of AESA radar. US can pressure Israelis because the ELM 5052 is co-funded by US. Israel on their own would simply love to get such a huge contract, forget banning.
