The Witcher 2 game play on the Sager NP5165 on high settings (720p)

Sager NP5165 Specs

-Intel i7-2720QM Processor (2.2ghz)
-Nvidia GT555m Graphics card
-6gb of Ram

The Witcher 2 is a beautiful game and it can be played on high settings at 720p but the frame rate stay in the low 20's. However if you bump it down to medium settings in runs at about 30 fps on average and still looks wonderful.

  • I have a Lenovo W520 Thinkpad, with a quadcore Intel 2630QM 2.0 GHz and a Quadro 1000M graphics card. I currently have 4Gb DDR3.

Could you tell me if these specs are similar to yours, i.e. will my machine be able to run The Witcher 2 with the same graphics settings at the same FPS?

  • @MrBramthebird Your graphics card is a serious bottleneck and you would be lucky to play The Witcher 2 on the lowest settings. I cant even promise that you will be able to run the game at all based on your specs. Sorry.

  • @itsadurg Not even at 1366x768 or 720p? Would be a shame, the total cost of that notebook was €1500, newly bought this year. Do you know if there's a demo of The Witcher 2 around so I can first test if my system can run it?

  • @MrBramthebird Well i used the site called "game-debate" and they check computer specs and see if you can play different games and it says that your GPU does not meet minimum system requirements and that if you played it it would have to be at the lowest settings possible and even then your FPS would probably be very bad. As far as a demo goes i don't think there is one, you could pirate it and see if it runs and if it does buy it.

  • @itsadurg Yeah, think I'll do just that. If the pirated version runs allright, I'll be heading straight to the retailer! Crysis 2 ran at 30fps+ at 1600x900 at high settings, so I still have some hope though :) thanks for your replies!

  • @MrBramthebird No problem :) hope the game runs for you.

  • @69guitarchick Nevermind for some reason my Sager hates Internet explorer 9 (Still need fixes), I just tried windows 8 and optimus works perfectly with it. But it doesn't work with Google Chrome.

  • @69guitarchick I went with the 6gbs just to be safe. I ordered mine 10/9/11 and received it 10/1711. So far so good I'm not use to the optimus. It does work for my gaming though. I mostly come on Youtube and the "high performance" doesn't always work even on the highest res. (1080hp) I don't know if its because Google chrome allows optimus. Internet explorer 9 does but again it doesn't always work when I want to watch something. Now I'm looking for a 3d movie to test it out on maybe Avatar.

  • @Akuma2unlimited what are you planning on doing with this laptop? Most people are fine with 4gb of ram.

  • @LegeonDota It is your Graphics Card. it is not strong enough to run this game properly.
