Here is my Sega Blast City arcade cabinet running Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike via a Sega Dreamcast on a newly-installed Makvision 29" Tri-sync monitor.

  • I'm thinking of picking up an extra monitor for my Blast City and was wondering did you have to change out the bezel?

  • @Gambenoful I kept the stock bezel and just let it rest upon the monitor as the new monitor is flat and not curved as the original monitor was. The bezel sticks out a bit but it's barely noticeable. I planned to sand down the back so that it would fit perfectly but honestly, I don't mind it the way it is now.

  • How do you like the Makvision 29" as compared to the stock monitor?

    Have any fitment issues?

is this a PS2 version? If so how did you go about connecting it up?

Did you do a controller hack?

  • @JetSetBaroni I can't really compare the Makvision to the stock monitor as it was dead when I bought it, but I do like the Makvision. Fitting the monitor in was a pain. I had to remove the brackets from the stock monitor and put them on the Makvision which required drilling as the holes don't align. As for the controls I'm using two Dreamcast controllers that are wired through a JAMMA fingerboard.
