i did more research and i foud out that derbent barrier or wall at caspian sea was constructed by sassanid empire of persia in 6th century. it was wrongly associated with the name of alexander. it was simply a case of romantic fabrication. people were so much in love with alexander that they wanted to associate every event with his name. muhammad travelled to syria at the end of 6th century, heard the story and copied it in koran to impress beduins.

@zulfitareen Ok..its great that atleast you have knowledge on the issue..The Quran names Dhul Qarnayn, an Arabic translation to the title of the King that had built the barrier..It can be Alexander or Cyrus, but it surely was located in the Caucasus mountains and made of Iron and Copper..

Just like Muhammad was prophesized as 'Narashangsa' in Hindu scripture, Vedas..Which means the 'praised one'..

Quran (30:3) prophecized a Roman victory over Persians, which indeed happened in future..

but there is a problem.

1-the dariel groge is made of bricks, while the wall claimed by muhammad(peace be upon him) was made of iron and copper.

2- alexander never travelled that far north.

3-the story came from a book called "alexander romance", written at the end of 6th century, that was about the time muhmmad (peace be upon him) travelled to syria, heard the story and copied it in koran.
