I have been to Kyiv three times and Yalta once. I flew from Kyiv to Simferopol and rented a Volkswagon, drove it to Yalta. My host wanted me to rent a apartment from the many people that approach you when you enter Yalta. I said no but went into the village and stayed at a hotel. They accepted my Visa credit card and spoke English. Nice. One day we went up on a mountain and rode horses. We went to Sevastopol and saw the submarine museum. I saw a statue of Lenin. Next to it, McDonalds.
