  • vallvoodoo, rope would come in handy to give you the length you need. The Tree Huggers provide the "anchor" to whatever hanging post you want to use. Hope this helps

  • Why buy and carry all that hardware? Spend 10 minutes learning a couple of appropriate knots and away you go.

  • these are a good idea, they protect the tree and your hammock rope.

the bark after awhile will eat at rope fibers, also for the limited weight it is quicker and stronger...just sayin!

  • the lock she made at the end after going through the loop is going to really tighten and will be hard to open in the morning, I'm sure. I like the "S" hook idea though.

  • if you guys put two d rings so that you could tie it with a garda hitch it would be the best thing going... you wouldnt have to sell it with the s hook either....

  • @ORBEX I think that the purpose of using the nylon strap, was so it didn't score the tree & leave a mark. It's a good idea & I'm sure any backpacker could innovate this idea to come up with a lighter weight version of the same idea.

If you come up with that, let me know,, I'm serious!

  • What I dont understand its...what do you do if the trees arent at exactly the right distance apart for the hammock?

  • I don't need to cary more wait then i already have like the man rote learn some knots
