Atari 2600 Music - Gyruss

Quite a wise decision for the programmer to leave sound effects out; the VCS only has two sound channels and half the fun of Gyruss is the music! Interestingly, this is closer to the Bach original and not like the arcade version at all.

@Ioanides001 The gameplay isn't fundamentally different, but a lot of mostly graphical reductions were made.

Thanks for posting. Do you know if the 7800 also only had 2 sound channels?

@toptenmaterial Yes, the 7800 uses the same chip for sound that the VCS uses, the TIA (Television Interface Adapter). This is a little absurd when you think about it as the VCS was already a decade old at the 7800's release.

I had this for the 5200 also. It was one of my favorite games for the atari. This and Pitfall II. Pitfall II was better on the 5200 as it had a second level, which the 2600 did not have. Way back in the late 80's I stayed at a hotel when traveling with my folks, and in the lobby they had a Gyruss arcade game. I spent a couple hours at that thing, & it was awesome!

i didnt know they made gyruss for 2600. I actually had it for the 5200, and it was pretty good
