The Republican candidates swept to victory in Haddam, Connecticut last November, even after irregularities that forced a special election. On the night of February 13, 2010, the Haddam Republicans celebrated their sweet victories by holding a Mardi Gras party in the town's main fire station.

Nearly one-hundred (100) people attended. A fine time was had by all. The fire station is across the street from the Connecticut River......"Down by the riverside"

Haddam, Connecticut neighbors East Haddam, across the Connecticut River, home town of Senator Chris Dodd (D), the lame duck who was forced to quit his reelection campaign on January 6, 2010 by a combination of pressure from conservative grass roots activists and a panic-driven Democratic Party hierarchy.
