really, on the black pearl not in the dutchman

@Caljason34 Nope! Davey Jones is 100% CG. This has already been confirmed by not only Bill Nighy, but ILM.
-
@ambivalo82 Otherwise, he's all CGI.

@Caljason34 No, Pgirts is correct...at least in terms of how Davy Jones is depicted throughout the majority of the films. On one of the DVDs, the filmmakers applied makeup around Nighy's mouth and eyes in case the CGI versions of those features didn't work. However, the CGI elements satisfied the crew so the use of Nighy's actual face was unnecessary. The only time you see any Bill Nighy's actual body is when he (SPOILERS) appears in human form very briefly in the third film.

:D epic

Davy Jones looks a lot like 0bama

@Fussino Thanks.
Davy Jones was 100% CGI. Bill Nighy performed in the scene with the actors in a motion capture suit, and Davy's animation was based on his performance.

You're 80% correct; Bill Nighy acted the scene with motion capture everywhere except his face. The finished scene is really his eyes, with the mouth touched up a bit to represent Davy.
