There's only one version of the theory test which you take regardless of where you live in Great Britain. You can take a practice test online free of charge: Go to GOV.UK and type 'practice your driving theory test' into the search bar (top right) - you should then find the relevant link at the top of the search results.

You can ask for a voiceover in one of 21 languages if your first language is not English or you cannot read or understand written English well. You'll need to state this when you book your theory test. For more details and a list of the available voiceover languages, visit Direct.gov.uk - go to 'Motoring' then 'Learners and new drivers and riders' then 'Theory test' and then 'Taking your theory test if you have special needs'.

just passed my theory test yesterday, my advice is torrent the dsa official theory test software do at least one test everyday for two weeks and you should be fine.

Had a full driving licence and driven all over the world for 22 years, but I have to do this "theory" test for my Bike. Why? I have seen just about every hazard on the road there is in the last twenty years! Crazy, just money making. If you have been driving on the roads for over a certain amount of years, you shouldn't have to do this test. And to think I have never had any points or penalties in all that time..

Maybe they are not great at English but at least they try and speak more than one language. No need to be rude.
