Love Letters (Straight From Your Heart)

A wonderful song by Victor Young - and a massive hit for the otherwise virtually unnoticed Ketty Lester in 1962. Ketty had a superb soulful voice, and the piano backing (by Lincoln Mayorga) was simple and understated. I've attempted to keep to the low-key feel of that record.

I first recorded this over 2 years ago, but wanted to re-do it in HD and with a purely acoustic sound. I've also slightly altered the chord sequence and the dynamics of the piece. I first heard this around 1963, and the tune has haunted me ever since.

At first, I was sorta put-off because this waswn't the intro I am used to. BUT, I continued to listen and was very pleased that you instrumentally expressed the emotions created by the tune and words of this beautiful Ketty Lister song. Very good!
