  • Oh I don't agree with that. The Chinese were known for their great beam workers long before Shannon came along. Think Yang Bo in 1989. The Chinese and Shannon both had styles and techniques all their own.

  • Yeah, I know, but Shannon is SO young in this video, and it's really rare for an American to have such elegant execution. Plus, I was trying to speak from a historical perspective. Back then, front aerials really weren't common on beam.

  • @intldawn Yep..Yang and Shannon were kind of in the same time period though so if yang bo came first it wasn't by much.

  • @mrparke007 Ah, yes.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 I meant during this period in gymnastics. In Nadia's era, that was a very common skill on beam.

  • @mrparke007 Nadia did a front aerial in Montreal.

  • I could watch her wrists all day...

  • @msms68 no. fifth or sixth place

  • did she medal

  • this was the most beautiful / best gymnastics video i have seen ever.

  • I'm a big fan of Shawn Johnson but Shannon Miller's tumbling pass is way more impressive.

  • funny thing is if people can take that big of steps on their dismounts now and still win a gold olympic medal. Gosh things have changed!
