African Wild / Painted Dog

These magnificent African wild dogs don't bark like our domesticated canines. Instead, they make chirping sounds to communicate with each other. Although, to me it sounded more like high pitched whimpering sounds.

these animals are hard to love... they rip open their prey's bellies and eat them alive... i know it's nature, but it's still terrible to watch. they have their place in nature and i find it abominable that they have been decimated to just a few thousand. they need to be brought back. but to say that you love them as you would a domestic pet... i think that goes too far. IMHO.

Interestingly enough, don't forget that our 'domesticated' dogs have that same instinct/capability. They cannot suffocate their prey, as a lion does, because of their shorter canine teeth.

I love all animals and think it would be very lonely and sad without their presence.
