How to share files between XP and Vista

i want to ask you something..suppose i have to cinnect 4 computer...do i have to use the same default gateway for all the computer.....
i am using a lan hub with four ports....tcp/ip adress is different but what and the default gateway..please help....thnx in advance

yeah this is exactly what I did last winter when re-vamping my brother's pc. I was proud doin it without any tuts at all;)) But now that I want to do the same with an other pc that I'm re-vamping; it does not work: I've added a LAN so that it can give internet to the other pc I'm sharing. If vista is the host nothing works. So XP is the host, but all it shares is the internet (when vista is not looking around for another ip address yeah)

shouldn't the Cat5 Cable be crossed or sth like that, to make a peer to peer connection?

lol, the XP desktop has lost alot of use since i got my vista laptop, i was looking for a way to get eveything from XP to Vista, dunno if this works yet, work life sux T.T
all my computers use wiresless, the hard part will be trying to find my LAN cable lmao

if you have wireless than why do you need the cable? :))

valid point, but the XP isn't part of that wireless network, the linksys USB device i used died

@Pharmit24 Well I have not tryed since I don't own any wireless computer/laptop but I think you must create a wireless network from one of the computers and enable file sharing and simply connect from the other one...
