  • These guys are such a underated band I remember when their first self titled release came out and the hair metal zines did not know how to take this french industrial band keeping in mind that Ministry had yet to release "The minds a terrible thing to taste" the first industrial release that had metal heads cutting their mullets and throwing out their megadeth t-shirts

  • @pateris Yeah, i have great reespect for real industrial, I guess I call both original industrial and industrial metal industrial, since there is somewhat the same philosophy or attitude in them. Who is Marylin Manson?? Not any fucking type of industrial as far as I'm concerned.

Throbbing Gristle are legends by the way, it was only that my first comment was about industrial metal, like you pointed out.

  • @Thesortvokter Yup ! No big deal anyway. Gone is the time when people fought over genres — thanks Cthulhu ! — but when it's a total blur, it's muddled. Most of the time it's "I like this genre, so everything I like belongs to this genre." Hence I heard N.E.R.D. qualified as "neo-metal" and even my beloved QNTAL as "Symphonic metal" ! I'm not a purist, but this is bollocks !!!!!

  • @Thesortvokter Okay then, no big deal anyway. I'm a big fan of "real" industrial, and even if I'm not a purist, ayatollah or fanatic (perish the thought ! ;)) it irks me when I say "industrial" and get "um, yeah, Marylin Manson". (Just like "I'm a proud goff !" "What do you listen to ? " "Evanescence". I rest my feckin' case ! :))

  • @pateris Yeah, I mean industrial metal of course, I wasn't think of Throbbing Gristle and stuff..

  • @Thesortvokter Hem, you know that there's a difference between "industrial metal" and "industrial", do you ?

  • @fraterwolf Exactly. The Pals were there before everyone. Actually in an interview on a French radio, they stated they never saw their music as "metal", but the "metal" scene embraced it. 15 years later, "Excess and overdrive" has not aged one bit. Though now, it means that "metal" has eaten up everything industrial, just like they have eaten up "Goth"… I wonder if there will be something that's not "metal"…

  • sO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!

  • Good old industrial days!

S.W.A.N.S. Godflesh, SONIC VIOLENCE, the first releases from Pitch Shifter, SAW THROAT, FoetuS and more...
