hi. pardon my ignorance about this projector. im thinking of getting this projector this spring. my question is: what do i need to watch bluray movies/hdtv in 3D? just the 3D glasses? i already have a 3D bluray (PS3). pls help. thanks.

You would require the 3D-XL box to be able to watch 3D Blu-Ray movies on your PS3, or any other hardware 3D Blu-Ray player. The 3D-XL is on pre-order right now and should be shipping next month.

International delivery a little expensive (but true, not more than on canadapost site calc.), safe and very fast, 1 week to another side of the Earth.

Projector considered as very good (is my first), bright, nice image.

Short-throw is incredibly cool - any image size, amazing big from small distance (even bigger than I can use).

Rainbow effect exists, but a little (I cant compare to another), and its not bother.

I've had this GT720 for about 3 weeks now. It is AMAZING! If you are considering buying it, just do so because you will not regret it. Hooked up currently 1) Xbox360, 2)Philips HTS6600 Home Theater, 3) WD TV Live Plus HD media player, 4) Viewsonic Tablet G - all thru an HDMI switch. What a great short throw! At day, the picture is really good / at night, it is mind-blowing. The short throw projects at 100"-110" from 7 ft away. Perfect for my 2nd shelf of my coffee table.

@ji3200 I went along a different route of purchasing the DW318 from Optoma and it's pretty good!! Basically I don't see it at all and think it's more the video cameras that pick up on it a LOT more!!

if you look in to the lens from the side and flicker your eyes left and right quick enough you can see, or shake your hand in front of it... but the image, nothing... think I saw it twice!! and that was only around the white reticule next to black, but only cos I was really looking for it!

@ArkonBlade Nah it won't work with Sky3D or PS3 gameplays etc... however there is a device called the Optoma 3D-XL that connects and allows the projector to function with these devices... (Out early 2011) just check the Optoma website for details and compatibility with the GT720

*** Personally I am waiting for the XL to come out but buying this GT720 prior to still have the benefits of a huge fuck off display for gaming and movies :D ***

We compare it very favorably to the HD66. It is a very similar projector and offers pretty much the same advantages of the HD66 with the addition of having a short throw lens that will produce the same size image as the HD66 will in less then half the distance away from the screen. So for small rooms or if you want a projector for mobility etc, this one cannot be beat!
