Chapter 18
[Shaeas POV]
"Hi, people!" Joannas voice seemed to echo in the house.
Joe lightly put me down and turned to look at me. With the look in his eyes, I could see that he was worried. I just forced a believable smile and shook my head at him. I pushed him forward to greet Joanna, in an attempt to not be so rude.
"Hey Joanna, how are you?" Joe asked, fake enthusiasm coloring his voice as he hugged her. He let go within seconds, literally wiping his arms at his sides. I had to hold my breath to keep from laughing.
"Im good! Missed you guys so much, I thought Id just intrude!"
"Jojo?" Nicks voice came from behind me. We all turned to see Nick standing at the mouth of the kitchen, apparently shocked by our guest.
"NICKY!" Joanna screamed, running over to him and jumped into his arms. They both kissed for what felt like a heartbreaking eternity.
It made me remember the night a few days before they left for the tour, when Nick kissed me with that passion. I looked down at the ground, hoping to avoid the gagging faces Joe was making right next to me. Also hoping to block out the love scene that began getting extremely heated in front of my eyes.
After a few moments, Joe coughed breaking up the reunion. Joanna looked at me with a victorious smile and Nick didnt even manage to make eye contact. I took a deep breath and turned to Paul and Anderson Rae (Joannas dad) who had just walked into the house. Id met Anderson Rae before, the night they came to meet us for the tour, and he seemed like a fun guy. Unfortunately, he had a witch for a daughter.
"Well, hello their guys. Hope you dont mind us coming back here!" said Anderson.
"No its not a problem at all Anderson. Now why dont you tell the Boys and Shaea why you guys are here?" asked Paul, smiling. Well actually, when he looked at me, his smile was more like an apology. I returned the look with a confused one of my own.
"Well, Joannas mom and I were hoping for a little get away after such a tiring tour. Now, her brother Kirk and everyone else are staying at their grandmothers place, but Joanna asked if she could stay here with you guys. Well be gone for about three weeks, if thats okay with you guys."
NO! NO! NO! NO! Its NOT okay! Force her to her grandmothers house, CHAIN her if you have to! SHE CANNOT POSSIBLY STAY HERE!
"That would be amazing, Mr. Rae!" said Nick. Joe and I turned to look at him, both our faces unbelievably angry.
"Oh Nicky, thank you! I really wanted to spend more time with you guys," she said hugging Nick tightly. "Especially Shaea."
She turned and gave me a death stare that pierced into my skin. I turned around to avoid it, but could feel it cut through my back.
"Shaea, if looks could kill, this would be your funeral," Joe whispered a bit loudly.
"You guys are immature! God, grow up Joe!" Nick shot at Joe. We both stood there, surprised by Nicks attitude.
"Yea, Joe, grow up," I teased in a fake low voice, mimicking Nick. Honestly, I didnt realize it was such a sin to lighten the mood.
|You too, Shaea. Both of you need to stop being immature and learn respect," Nick shot at me this time. It was unbearably quiet in the room, tension building every second. After a few minutes, Joanna spoke up.
"Well now Nicky, why dont you show me where I'll be staying?" she said, fluttering her eyelashes. Its like shes begging me to puke on her straight brown hair and skimpy pink dress.
Nick and Joanna walked up the stairs well, Joanna skipped up the stairs dragging Nick with him, and towards the guest bedroom.
Joe and I just stood there at the bottom of the stairs watching after them.
"This should be interesting," said Joe to himself. I didnt know whether I should hear this or not, but I couldnt agree more.
