Beirut- The Rip Tide ALBUM REVIEW

For me, Beirut's new album is a small step back from the Flying Club Cup and the March of the Zapotec EP that preceded it. I was sure all this waiting would result in something bigger and better, but the ambition needed for that doesn't surface on the Rip Tide. It just seems like business as usual. Maybe this would have been acceptable as a release between Gulag and Flying, but the arrangements and foreign flavors of Beirut have held much more water on previous releases, and enhanced the Beirut experience.

The accent above the c makes it a 'ch' sound. Just an FYI for reading those bands' names. BTW, accents above s, z and a line through the letter d make them 'sh' 'zh' and 'dj' sounds respectively.

i love beirut, i have this album and listen to it all the time. if you like beirut, buy it. it's worth it.

what a handsome guy, but those oversized black eyeglasses makes him look like a total loser. like those losers that tried to fit in high school. and after they were done with high school, they continued being, not like losers anymore, but more like rejects. when are they going to learn? they must be told how to be cool. sir, those eyeglasses need to go.

beirut is amazing. he does what he wants. he went off by himself so he wasn't influenced by other stuff. the rip tide was plain zach, songs he wrote that was more his style. i mean i get what your saying in some parts but zach is unique and this album was about him growing up more and going home. so he is simpler (is that a word?) but it's completely him.
