Άγιος Ιωάννης - Καστρί: Το παρεκκλήσι του Αγίου Ιωάννη βρίσκεται σ' ένα βράχο ύψους 100 μέτρων, περικυκλωμένο από θάλασσα. Σε αυτό το ειδυλλιακό σκηνικό, καταφθάνει η γαμήλια συνοδεία στην ταινία "Mamma Mia", ενώ η Donna με τον Sam ερμηνεύουν το συγκλονιστικό "The Winner Takes it All". Το εκκλησάκι βρίσκεται σε απόσταση περίπου 35 χιλιομέτρων από τη Χώρα Σκοπέλου, οδηγείτε προς Γλώσσα και λίγο πριν συναντήσετε τα πρώτα σπίτια στη Γλώσσα βλέπετε σχετική ταμπέλα "Μοναστήρι Αγίου Ιωάννη" και στρίβεται δεξιά. Ο δρόμος έχει άσφαλτο και είναι σε καλή κατάσταση, ωστόσο έχει πολλές στροφές κλπ και απαιτεί ιδιαίτερη προσοχή.

Agios Ioannis, Kastri, Skopelos: The church of Agios Ioannis Kastri on Skopelos, where scenes of Mamma Mia were filmed: The small church of Agios Ioannis is located in the region of Kastri, about 7 km east of Glossa, northern Skopelos. This is a lovely church that used to be the katholicon of a monastery in the past. It stands on top of a rock and provides amazing view to the coasts of Skopelos and to Alonissos.

Its name actually means Sain John on the Castle, depicting that probably there was a small castle there in the past to protect the islans from pirates and enemy invasions.

This small church became famous where scenes of the Hollywood movie "Mamma Mia" (2007) were filmed there. In fact, the wedding scenes were shot in that church. The impressive rock is linked to the island with a narrow path and people have to climb 110 stairs to get to the top. A small beach is located above the rock and it gets pretty crowded in summer. The interior of the church has beautiful icons and old ecclesiastical items.
