Losing one of your senses, will drastically increase the sensitivity of your other senses. So yes, in a sense, he does have an advantage.
Also, Yojimbo won the fight, but neither died.
Yojimbo cut his belly in half, the gold in his shirt saved his life, or it was meant to be there.... Hmm
