A view across the Megaron at Mycenae. This feature of the Mycenaean Palace was replicated at other sites such as Tiryns and Pylos and is characterised by a monumental entrance to a main chamber with a circular hearth and throne. However, Mycenae's Megaron has partly subsided and collapsed as it is built on the side of a slope. The present structure is restored though you can see that unfortunately on the day this was filmed (Aug 2009) the This is of particular interest to students taking Unit CC1 (Entry Code F381) Archaeology of the Classical World in OCRs AS-Level Classical Civilization course.
