IBS is a bastard.

@beeeastmaster, he's NOT great - he's being disingenuous, treating IBS like an upset stomach, when, for most, there's NO CURE. But this is what I expect from uTube.
If this guy has found a cure, he'd be in the news. A German team HAVE found a physical cause for IBS, but finding a cure is another matter:
Google: "Proof that Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is not in your Head"
People r misdiagnosed with IBS (eg parasites), & so for some they can be cured, but for many, that's not the case.

@roseta93 Talk to your doctor about amitripltyline. It is a mild anti-depressant, but it worked wonders for me.

I was diagnosed with IBS months back, after endless test which came back negative. I took countless amount of medicines, which would only help for a couple of days. After seeing several GI specialists, one of them recommended I take amitriptyline. I was hesitant for a while to take an anti-depressant, but I finally caved. It was like magic for me. It literally got rid of my stomach cramping within a day. I took a small dose for about 4 months and slowly phased it out. I am now symptom free.

PART 1:
My advice: BEFORE using Rifaximin, get a stool test. Removing parasites can be difficult, so you want to do a test first to prove that you have them before trying to kill them off - as that might result in the stool test coming up negative - the parasite can come back!:
& if u get a private stool test, ensure they obtain 3 stool samples from diff. days:

PART 2:
"Clinical manifestations of Giardia intestinalis infection also vary from asymptomatic carriage to acute and chronic diarrhoea with abdominal pain. These IBS-like symptoms can be continuous, intermittent, sporadic or recurrent, sometimes lasting yrs without correct diagnosis. It is essential that all patients with IBS undergo routine parasitological investigations in order to rule out the presence of protozoan parasites as the causative agents of the clinical signs."

@10kinga, he mentioned "friendly bacteria", which IS probiotics, but most people won't know that. Let us know which ones you take - people have different results with different types (mixes) of probiotics. But for some - or many! - even this doesn't work.
Two brands I've used - google:
. probio 7 forever-young-health
. optibacprobiotics
Both are UK firms, but ship worldwide, I think. Optibac have a wide range of different mixes of probiotics to try, so they well worth looking at.
i wish you were my doctor
