@tengoindiamike it was Kona winds that day. Every time the Kona winds come the aircraft land in the opposite direction

@TimsterDar Yeah, all the waitresses/waiters/bartenders all seem to have some type of "degree" these days! Political science, Psychology, Sociology, I call those "waitress degrees" because that's what you'll be doing with those types of "degrees."

military aviation is always the way to go when looking to become an airline pilot because thats what airlines are looking for and by the way dont go to some lame old community college in disguise as a real college

I live and fly in and out of Honolulu all the time and I've never herd of a plane cleared for 4 when someone was landing on 26... They must have just flipped the airport...
-
Very nice landing. Well done. Interesting comments how you retard the engines.
-
NWA 16 heavy? Isn't landing that direction on the reef runway pretty rare? How was that JAL heavy in background chatter cleared for
4R with you guys for 26L?

What airline do you fly for?

Excellent touchdown. Nice scenery, too.
Always nice to hear ATC traffic.

is that you flying the plane captjackb747. Great vids. Do you have any takeoff ones? More please!
Great landing! I have a question, at what height do you idle usually?
boeingdude99 4 years ago
I'm generally at idle power at about 2-4' in a slight flair, waiting for the body gear to touchdown.

Woah! how do you do it so low I thought 30-10 feet. Doesn't your plane raise back into the air if you idle at 2-4 or what do you do it to make it not? Because seriously that landing was amazing!

I have developed a little trick over the years of flying the 400, I generally retard 2 and 3 engines to idele at 2-4', which make the body gear touch down first, then at touchdown, retard 1 and engines to idle and then go into reverse thrust.
