1 in 6 girls? Last time i checked, the highest amount of people to take this per year is around 4000. Meaning around ten a day. Much, much less then 1 in 6

Just read a psychology article on this very phenomenon... DON'T DO IT. It can really mess with a girl's psyche. 90% of the girls who take this pledge will have sex prior to marriage. However, they will have a higher risk of STDs or pregnancy, because they will not make it a habit to use any kind of protection.

Why do I have the feeling that most of these fathers are more concerned with not being embarrassed by their daughters losing their virginity than with their daughters' happiness and own choices? :/ Is it just me or do you also get the impression that some people stick to stupid traditions just to keep up a facade?

Sigh this is sexist and brainwash. If the girls are going to pledge pure the boys have to as well. Religion is morphed by man to create what they want.
