I got my recorder about a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to play it now and then. It's a Yamaha YRS-23. I'm eager to find nice sheets for it too. The reason I'm learning whistle now is because I find it very convenient to take in the mountains, lightweight and not very complicated, but more complex so too say than the leaf, kazoo, dramba or comb-and-paper. So yeah, that's why I'm doing this and I hope I'll sound bearable...I was always told that I'm tone death, so a lot of things out there might sound nice too me :) I hope to get a tin whistle and and an ocarina some day, but the ones that I like are not to be found in Romanian shops. Tralala...back to my whistle then.
